Rivalry Week (ISU) | Random Thoughts and a Final Look

Before I get to my thoughts on the game, let's see what picklegal1 thinks about the Hawkeye victory.

Okay, so random thoughts?

After tinkering with the nickle and some 3-5-3 alignments on defense it appears Norm Parker has the spread-read-option figured out. Of course, it helps when you have NFL caliber talent all across the defensive line.

For being the concern of the summer, Iowa's Oline has been a pleasant surprise. It's tough to gauge with the defenses Iowa has faced thus far but I'm impressed. I'm really looking forward to Adam Gettis getting back and seeing what he's got.

It was nice to see Prater on the field and rip down his first interception of the season.

Eastern Illinois lost 37-7 yesterday to Central Arkansas. Iowa State may very well finish the season with only three wins. While I think Iowa has dominated like they should, it may be because of very poor opponents. Saturday will surely be a nice measuring stick.
