ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that senior William "Willie" Lowe is leaving the football team. Rumors about Lowe leaving surfaced around message boards and on Twitter after he wasn't on the practice field last week when the media was present. Lowe was one of the Rhabo 13 and Schad reports Lowe is down 20 pounds and still suffering from headaches.
Lowe was heading into his fourth season on campus. The corner saw action as a true freshman recording two tackles in 2008. He saw action all three years, mostly as a back-up corner and on special teams. He is credited with 23 total tackles and one forced fumble.
No word on where Lowe will transfer to, or if he even plans to play football again.
