Hawkeye Football | Offensive Lineman Mitchell Keppy Commits to Iowa

It has been almost 24 hours since Coach Johnson told us via tweet that there is a new Hawkeye. Now we know who that is. Mitch Keppy, a 6'5" 280 pound offensive lineman, comes from Port Byron, Illinois. Keppy is the first to verbally commit to the Hawkeye football team for the recruiting class of 2012.

Myron Keppy lettered at Iowa in 1986 and '87 as a defensive lineman. Following his Iowa football career Myron went to Riverdale High School (where his son attends) and coached baseball until becoming the wrestling coach. Myron coaches his son Mitch who once did this:
