Laron Taylor was down to two schools, Iowa and Cincinnati. Today around 12:30 CST he verbally committed to the Hawkeye coaching staff.
Scout.com rates Taylor as a three star linebacker recruit. Rivals ranks Taylor as a two star prospect. In addition to Iowa and Cincinnati Taylor had offers from Indiana and Western Michigan.
Laron becomes the ninth commit of the 2012 recruiting class. His Detroit Cass Tech teammate Ruben Lile did not commit but narrowed his list down to Iowa, Wisconsin, and Toledo.

In other recruiting news, Southfield, Michigan corner back Leviticus Payne committed to Cincinnati. Payne held an offer from the Hawkeyes along with offers from Bowling Green, Toledo and Western Michigan.
