PSD's Twitter Top 25 | A Look at the Key Match-Ups For Week 9

Now that the Twitter Top 25 has been posted we can look ahead to the key match-ups for week nine in college football.

Here we go:

Thursday, October 27, 2011 7:00 PM CST Fox Regional

Rice at #17 Houston
Spread: Houston -27.5

This should be an easy win for the Cougars and Vegas thinks so putting them at almost a four touchdown favorite. I listed this game because Houston at 7-0 has slowly been climbing the rankings. A huge win on prime time could get them that kick they need to get near or in the Top 10.

Friday, October 28, 2011 7:00 PM CST ESPN

BYU at TCU
Spread: TCU -13.5

Both teams have received votes from pollsters this season and currently lurk outside the Top 25 in the "others receiving votes" section. A loss in this game will eliminate one of those teams from pollster's ballots, the other has a chance to again crack the Top 25.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 11:00 AM CST ESPN2

Purdue at #18 Michigan
Spread: Michigan -13.5

Michigan had a bye week but this will be a test to see if the loss to Michigan State still lingers. The Boilermakers have been a team on the uptick this year and could continue a drive to bowl eligibility win a win on the road.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 11:00 AM CST ESPN

#10 Michigan State at #15 Nebraska
Spread: Nebraska -4

It took a miracle in the form of a "Hail Mary" for Sparty to knock off Wisconsin last week. The Cornhuskers had a warm-up with Minnesota. MSU is in the driver seat for the Big Ten's Legends Division but the Cornhuskers could take the lead with a win over the Spartans.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 2:30 PM CST ABC

Illinois at #19 Penn State
Spread: PSU -5

The Illini broke the Top 15 after a 6-0 start but have since slid out of the Top 25 after losing back-to-back weeks. Penn State slow rise in the rankings may have to do with their unsettled quarterback position but the defense has carried the team. Penn State currently sits atop the standings in the Big Ten Leaders Division. This game with Illinois begins a challenging finish for the Lions that will also face Nebraska, Ohio State and Wisconsin to close out the year.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 2:30 PM CST ESPN

#11 Oklahoma at #8 Kansas State
Spread: Oklahoma -13.5

You have to wonder if Kansas State is worthy of the #8 ranking. Oklahoma had their BCS Championship hopes dashed last week in Norman when Texas Tech knocked them from the ranks of the unbeaten. Vegas loves the Sooners to rebound but Kansas State has been a value bet all season.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 2:30 PM CST ABC

Baylor at #4 Oklahoma State
Spread: Okie State -14

Oklahoma State now sits atop the Big 12 standings with Kansas State after in-state rival Oklahoma lost to Texas Tech last week. The Cowboys might be the conference's last shot at the BCS title game unless Kansas State gives Oklahoma its second loss in a row. Okie State will have to slow down Baylor's RG3 first in what will be a for sure shootout.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 7:00 PM CST ESPN

#12 Wisconsin at Ohio State
Spread: Wisky -7

Wisconsin gets a chance to rebound this week, again in front of a prime time national audience. The down side? They have to do it in Columbus. The Buckeyes had a bye week to prepare for the Badgers and surprisingly are still in the hunt for the Leaders Division crown.

Saturday, October 29, 2011 7:00 PM CST ABC

#3 Stanford at #20 USC
Spread: Stanford -7.5

The Trojans would love to play spoiler and end BCS Championship hopes for Stanford. With a weak Pac-12 this is one of the few remaining tough games for the Cardinal. Andrew Luck will have a national audience to showcase his abilities. A big game for him and the Heisman might be all but his.
