Hawkeye Football | Wayback Machine | 2003 #11 Michigan at #19 Iowa

Raise your hand if you watched the replay of this game last week on the BTN. If not, our favorite YouTuber, the Hawkeye Historian, recently uploaded a nice highlight package from that memorable day in Kinnick Stadium.

Brad Banks was gone and so was the fantastic 2002 offensive line. Robert Gallery, the lone leftover, returned for an All-American season. The 2002 defense that was horrible against the pass improved a great deal in 2003. Having a more experienced Sean Considine and Bob Sanders helped immensely. Abdul Hodge and Chad Greenway started to make a name for themselves and the star of this day, Ramon Ochoa seemingly came out of nowhere.

Hawkeye Football | Wayback Machine | Tavian Banks

I remember the first time I saw Banks run, it was Bettendorf game film we watched while I was in high school. He was a special talent that exploded on to the scene as a senior at Iowa. Banks finished his senior year with 1691 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Blog buddy Black and Gold Box Score recently did a nice review of Banks' stats and a comparison of the numbers.

Watch, just watch.

Summit Bar Employee's Tweet Sparks Shaun Prater Arrest Rumors

Okay, this is purely a RUMOR. Nothing on the Iowa City Arrest Blotter shows that Shaun Prater, senior CB on the football team, was arrested. Here is the timeline of the rumor:

At 2:38 am this morning Twitter user @ClayLocke, a doorman at Summit Bar posted this:

I checked the Police Blotter and didn't see Prater's name. I sent @claylocke a tweet with that info and he replied with this:

As far as Mr. Locke and his perspective, he tweeted this a couple of hours ago:
"RT: @ClayLocke I don't know what's more annoying, Iowa sports fans, or Iowa drivers... because neither are . "

I asked if @ClayLocke could share more information on what he saw and what had happened and he never replied.

So, Twitter buddy @Tmorganjr put his detective hat on and I recommend reading his Twitter timeline. A lot of solid work there, I'll summarize:
  • There is a police report that includes 'Trespass' and the Summit bar address around 1:30 am
  • The report does not mention Prater and is nothing but a vague description of an individual
  • The report does not include ARREST
  • If Prater was charged it is possible that it won't show up for a couple of days, but this is unlikely
Here is a screen shot of the police report and the vague description:

I wanted to put this post together since Mr. Locke made his perception of an incident public and rumors began to swirl. Prater does have a previous incident-strike one perhaps-and another incident could mean a multiple game suspension.

***Update: 10:19 PM 6/5/11***

Per @TMorganjr Prater is not listed on the latest police arrest blotter. Also, Mr. Locke has deleted his Twitter account. The link to him discussing his job as a doorman will no longer work. Good think we got some screenshots.

Also, here is Prater's latest Facebook status:
